TNI Import Export CC (TNI) is an international commodity trading company that was established in 2000. Specialising in the agricultural commodity segment, TNI has grown over the years to service blue chip companies such as Unilever, National Milling, Pioneer foods, Clover, Tastic Rice, Crossbow Foods and Mukwano Group of Uganda.

TNI has coordinated the logistics of Bulk and specialized commodities across the continent and has developed a strong and good working relationship with Transnet Port Terminals, Transnet Freight Rail, National Ports Authority and various port operators.

TNI has also developed strategic alliances with shipping lines and in 2010 chartered its own vessel from MUR Shipping to transport a consignment of 10 Million kilograms of rice from India to Durban. TNI has historically focused primarily on trading bulk rice into South Africa and East Africa.

In 2012 TNI entered into a joint venture with Pattabhi Agro Foods of India. TNI/ Pattabhi have embarked on a Pipeline Strategy for Sub Saharan Africa starting with South Africa. TNI is in the process to establishing rice/commodities packing plant that will be ISO 22000 certified and HAACP compliant. This plant will be able to pack rice, sugar, red speckled beans and lentils amongst others.

TNI has also diversified into the automotive bodybuilding and conversion industry.  In Sept 2014 TNI has obtained MIB Certification from the Department of Transport which certifies TNI to convert minibuses, panel vans into commuter/ taxi/ Special Forces vehicles, and issue them with a NATIS number. This certification will enable TNI to engage directly with OEM’s such as Citroen/Peugeot, VW, Mercedes Benz and Iveco.

In September 2014 TNI has created a new brand of facial tissues called Tamba. TNI plans on expanding the Tamba brand to include cocktail napkins, serviettes and pop-up tissues.

TNI is a founding member of India South Africa Business Forum where Mr. Triveshan Naidoo serves as the President.
